Iranian sayer Dates are derived from palm tree under the scientific name of Phoenix Dactylifera variety.
Harvested at the appropriate state of maturity, sorted and cleaned to remove defective fruit and extraneous material, and packed in suitable packaging to assure preservation and protection of the product. Product is substantially free blemishes, unripe dates, dirt, insect or mite damage and contamination, scouring, mould and decay. The cartons will have been passed through a Calibrated electronic metal detector.

Sometimes, up on customer's requirement, Dates are coated with appropriate vegetable oil in order to maintain the shelf life of the product and ensuring “free flowing” of the goods.
Size Grading of Sayer Dates
Sayer Dates are categorized in three different categories in terms of size of the fruit and their weight measured by their count per pound. These categories are known as:
- Select Grade
- Grade "B"
- GAQ Grade
Any of the Dates smaller than GAQ size are considered as industrial or FAQ Dates.

Availability
Sayer Pitted dates is available all through the year. Due to the crop year, in some years the rarity was experienced in the month of September.
