![]() A Pakistani delegation of date growers and exporters has arrived in Sri Lanka to explore the country's market for their products. The delegation is here to enhance the bilateral trade between the two countries and introduce different varieties of Pakistani dates to Sri Lankan consumers. During their stay in Sri Lanka, the delegation is expected to meet fruit and dry fruit importers of the country. According to Associated Press of Pakistan, the country is the second largest trading partner of Sri Lanka within the South Asian region. The bilateral trade between the two countries had sharply increased since the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 2002. The FTA is operational since June 2005. Trade between the two countries has increased from US$ 150 million to over US$ 300 million during last three years.
